History of Android

Android history. Android is an operating system based on Linux and designed for touch screen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Android was originally developed by a company called Android, Inc., with financial support from Google, then Google was bought in 2005. The android operating system was officially released in 2007, along with the establishment of a company Open Handset Alliance, a consortium from several companies hardware, software, and telecommunications which has the purpose to promote open standards on mobile devices. Mobile phone based on Android operating system first went on sale in October 2008.
